Hurley Gardens Engagement Session | Illinois Engagement Photographer | Timothy & Carla
Timothy + Carla's Love Story
What a joy to capture the warm love of Carla & Timothy! At first, the day appeared to be a dreary one. But, clouds can be a photo shoot's best friend! Cloudy days provide nice and even lighting that illimunated Carla and Timothy beautifully! Their sincere love and respect for one another clearly showed minute after minute. We can't wait to photograph their wedding in April! Their engagement session location was absolutely beautiful. The way they spoke with each other was so sweet and respectful—we could tell just how in love they are by the way they talked! Timothy is an aerial photography specialist, so we bonded over talking photography as well! These two were too cute and tender with each other!
Hurley Gardens Engagement Session
We took their engagement photos in Wheaton, Illinois. In the early 1900s, a group of wealthy Chicagoans settled in this area and it became known as the Chicago Colony. A renowned architect designed immaculate homes and one of them belonged to a millionaire named Edward Hurley. Hurley made his fortune by inventing a predecessor to the jackhammer. He also founded a machine company that would go on to manufacture the first self-contained electric washing machine. The Hurley Gardens originally covered 160 acres. The property also boasted a gorgeous two-story colonial home where Edward’s family lived.
The Hurley Gardens were eventually restored and are now accessible for the public to enjoy. This property is a super unique spot for taking photos. We love the Italian-inspired landscape, water features, and flower-lined paths! If you are looking for a beautiful spot for an outdoor engagement session, the Hurley Gardens might be a good pick!
